Leamington Spa...a small nice town

i've visited this town last weekend (14-16 Jan 05) as i've joined a host programme...
(Pong my sis & i had a chance to stay with an English family)

the weather wasnt nice...it was rain most of the days...

we started on Friday...i took a train from Bournemouth to Leamington Spa directly...
while Pong to a train from Birmingham where she lives to meet me at Leamington Spa station...haha...at first sight, we both looked fat!!

the couple, Richard & Jacqui, picked us up & took us home...
...there was nothing much to do...
they said Friday is their day off...no work just stay still...wow!
however, Jacqui took us to the town...to see what it looks like...
it looks bigger than Bournemouth!!

we went to Royal Leamington Spa...actually it's an exhibition...
telling the history of the spa here where the royal family & nobles always visited..
...Queen Victoria also visited the spa when she was very young...

Friday ended with the dinner at home...a little game before bed...
i played a game (i cant remember the name)
it has world map & we stand on it...then we have to use hands & legs...
touch the continents (that the caller tells you)...
that will make yourself twist if you got the left hand on America
...but have to put your right hand on Asia...
if you fall, you fail....
another game...pictionary...it's a good game...great actually....
but i hate drawing!!!...
for sure, i have drawn something even myself neven seen it before!!
haha...but that was a big fun of this game
then we went to bed...

Saturday...woke up...
the room was really hot because of the heater we turned on whole night!!
we went to Stratford-Upon-Avon...a town near by...
it's Shakespeare's birthplace...we went to the theatre...walked through the town...
to his house...it's a nice town...but very crowded...
we think because it's a tourist attraction...it has Shakespeare & Teddy Bear...
i think it has other interesting things also
...ahh...butterfly farm or museum...that's what i've seen
SO...next stop is Warwick Castle...where has been recommended by ....
the entrance fee is more than expensive! 12sth...horrible...
but, luckily, the host paid for us...
we first walked through the town...i think it should be Warwick...but i'm not sure
we ate sth before...& then we were in the castle...
the castle is beautiful...but the weather was terrible...it was raining all the time
...& that made me uncomfortable...
...i cant breathe especially when we went to the underground...
the castle is very dim...plus the bad weather...i felt like i were in the past...
when England was full of smoke & fog all over the island...(i've read that from the books)
however, i survived...the weather was better afterward...but still raining...

Saturday night, we went out to the party...the hosts organised for their friend...
ate & talked...that's the way party always is...
...went back home & bed...

Sunday...went to church...
experiencing how Anglican works...quite nice...
i think most churches here in UK have great relationship with the community...
after the church...we ate & watched an old english programme...funny...
...then we took the train to Birmingham...

To Be Continued...
